MAO-MFO Settings: Global

An explanation of fields and properties

MAO-MFO Settings: Global

Optional “global constraints” are defined directly in terms of the basic variables of the MAO LP Model. First, you define the variables that you will use and then, you define rate or ratio targets in terms of those variables.

Field Details:

General targets automatic generation

Process rate: this Generate Targets button is used to automatically generate variables and global targets and displays them in the list boxes below. The selectable Global target name displays in the Global targets section and the bounds need to be defined. The Generate button corresponding to Processing Rate creates all variables required for Global Ore target. Global Ore target bounds need to be defined by the user.

Recovered products: a product must be selected from the dropdown menu to generate the proper associated targets. The selectable Product Produced name displays in the Global targets section. The Generate button corresponding to Recovered Product in combination with a product selected from the drop-down menu creates all variables required for Product Produced target. The target bounds are user defined.

Grade of products:a product must be selected from the dropdown menu to generate the proper associated targets. The selectable Grade name displays in the Global targets section. The Generate button corresponding to Grade of in combination with a product or attribute selected from the dropdown list creates all variables required for Element Global Grade target. The target bounds are user defined.

Cement targets automatic generation

The Generate buttons corresponding to LSF (Lime Saturation Factor), SM (Silica modulus), and AM (Alumina modulus) create all variables required for LSF Target, SM Target, and AM Target.

LSF, SM and AM targets are defined in terms of CAO, SIO2, AL203 and FE203. If they have not been defined, window displays and the user needs to define them.

LSF (Lime Saturation Factor)

SM (Silica modulus)

AM (Alumina modulus)

Edit fields: displays the Field Selection for Targets dialog. LSF, SM and AM targets are defined in terms of CAO, SIO2, AL203 and FE203. If some of the arguments have not been defined this dialog allows the user to do so.

Defining variables for global targets:

Input: select an input from this list.

Destination: select a destination from this  list.

Element: select an element or [none] from the list.

Recovered: enabled only if the selected element is a product; check if the variable is to represent recovered rather than an in situ product.

Add: a variable of the form Input_Destination, Input_Destination_Element, or Input_Destination_Product-R will be added to the list of variables.

Defining Targets:

Global targets: click Add to add a new target, select a label and click Edit to modify an existing target, or select a label and click Delete to remove an existing target.

Target Variable Definition: Numerator and Denominator are system generated

Bounds and target values by time: used to enter minimum and maximum values related to the end year
